RIP, Super Max

A tribute to Super Max!

Back in February, one of our very special FlyCo Faithful passed away. Max was a special young man, with special needs. Flying Colors was his Fortress of Solitude, the place where he found what he loved... and the place where he loved to be.

Max was here for signings. His birthday was always near Free Comic Book Day, so it was like our FCBD party was a part of his birthday party! As a student at Ygnacio Valley High School, Max arranged his schedule around our open hours here at Flying Colors. He was a graduation speaker at YV for his graduation in 2019.

Max created his own superheroes. He lived vicariously through the ones he found on the racks here at Flying Colors.

Today I was visited by Max's mom. She was here to thank us for creating a community that meant so much to her son.

I thanked her for validating our mission here-- to Bring Happiness through Comics.
Max was especially happy when he was here. Now that he's made the journey across the Rainbow Bridge, we know Super Max will be with us always.

RIP, Super Max!
