Comic Shops in the Bay Area: Then & Now

Commemorating the publication of Dan Gearino's excellent book "COMIC SHOP: The Retail Mavericks Who Gave Us a New Geek Culture," here's our interview conducted by the author with comic business pros from the early days of the comics specialty market.

Featured are Bud Plant, Mike Friedrich, Dick Swan, Jim Friel, along with relative newcomers Brian Hibbs (Comix Experience, San Francisco) and me.

Copies of the book are still available at Flying Colors (at the time of this writing). The book is highly recommended for anyone interested in the long strange trip of the comics' biz and history.
